I don't want to jump the gun, it's not even Christmas Eve. However, let's face it. Once the presents are opened. The egg nog drunk. Christmas dinner is served. And the relatives head back to wherever they came from you're left with a Christmas tree. For those of us who have artificial ones, it'll be time to wrestle it back in the box and wrestle the box down to the basement or up to the attic. Those with real trees, you'll soon be thinking about how you can recycle it.

In Warrensburg the city has set up a tree recycling area at the southwest corner of Warren Street and West Pine. It's one block west of the Pine Street recycle transfer site. Residents are able to take their Christmas trees to the site through January 17, 2020. Before leaving your tree please make sure it's been stripped of all lights, garland, ornaments, tinsel and decorations. Also please remove all wrappings and plastic bags. Additionally, please don't leave trees at the Pine Street recycle transfer site.

Trees and mulch are available to anyone willing to load it at the site. If you have any questions please contact the Warrensburg Public Works office at 660-262-4661.

May you have a wonderful Christmas, and may your tree stand tall all the way through to the New Year!
