Warrensburg Police Department Warns of Counterfeit Bills in the Surrounding Area

The Warrensburg Police Department has issued a statement warning area residents and businesses, such as grocery stores, banks, and local merchants, to be on the lookout for counterfeit bills that are circulating.

According to a post on the Warrensburg Police Department's Facebook page, the counterfeit money is also known as “motion picture” money. The counterfeit money is circulating around the area, including Sedalia and Clinton

Police are investigating incidents of “motion picture” money being passed as US currency. If area residents have any information about anyone using, or attempting to use these bills, call the Johnson County Central Dispatch at 660-747-2265, or the Warrensburg Police Department at 660-747-9133.
