Warrensburg Police Reports for August 12, 2024
AUTHOR'S NOTE: The Warrensburg Police Department issues their reports to the press once weekly. These reports are for every incident submitted from July 15th through June 21st, 2024. The reports were submitted to KSIS on August 9th, 2024.
On 7/15/2024 at 0101 hours, the Johnson County Sheriff's Office requested a Drug Recognition Expert to the 400 block of Burkarth Road for an evaluation on a suspected drug impaired arrestee.
On 07/15/24 at 1051 hours, Officers was dispatched to the Scooter's Drive Through Coffee, 501 North Maguire Street. #K in reference to trespassing. The store manager advised that she asked the female subject, who was laying on the side of the building, to leave and she refused. Officers asked the female subject multiple times to leave the property before she was placed under arrest. Robin Gean Hankins, 40, was booked and released on scene with a citation for Trespassing.
On 7/15/24 at 1047 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet Malibu in the 700 Block of North Charles Street. The female driver was arrested for a Johnson County traffic warrant. Lauren Raelyn Weimer, 19, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed, posted a cash bond and was released on her Failure to Appear warrant for Expired Plates.
On 07/15/2024 at 1319 hours, Gavin Coker called and stated that his work badge for the USDA was stolen from his car. This occurred sometime between 07/05/2024 and 07/08/2024. Investigation ongoing.
On 07/15/2024 at approximately 1329 hours, Officers made contact with a known wanted male subject behind the Blue Moon Smoke Shop, 714 South Maguire Street. Lain X. Wallace, 24, was arrested and transported to the Johnson County Jail for his Probation Violation warrant on original charges of felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree. Wallace was given a $5,000 cash only bond.
On 7/15/24 at 1456 hours, Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash at Maguire and Oak Streets. A male driver, Colby Tyson Velaer, 24, was arrested for a Jackson County warrant. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed, posted a cash bond and was released.
On 7/15/2024 at 1637 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop near 1040 South Maguire Street. The male passenger was known to have warrants out of Pettis County and Johnson County. Anthony Earl Hilbert, 24, was arrested and transported to the Johnson County Jail to be booked in on his Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. The female driver was released with a warning.
On 7/16/24 at approximately 0548 hours, Officers were dispatched to Western Missouri Medical Center for a report of an accident involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, a male subject stated that he was struck by a white Nissan Sentra in the Casey's parking lot at 602 E Young Street. The vehicle ended up leaving the scene. Investigation continues.
On 7/16/24 at 0802 hours, Officers took a report of fraud that occurred in the 700 Block of South Maguire Street after a female fell victim to a Bitcoin scam by placing $25,000.00 in a Bitcoin ATM at the Blue Moon smoke Shop. The incident occurred on 7/12/24 at around 1600 hours. Investigation ongoing.
On 7/16/24 at 0953 hours, Officers responded to the 300 Block of South Mulberry Street for a report of an assault that had just occurred. As officers arrived on scene, Officers tried to detain a female suspect, who fled in a vehicle from the scene. Jasmine Evelyn Goodwin, 33 was issued a citation on a charge of Resisting Arrest/Failure to Obey.
On 07/16/24 at approximately 1418 hours, Officers were dispatched to the WPD at 102B South Holden Street in reference to lost property reported by James Broadway. Broadway reported that he lost his firearm between the hours of 0800 and 0930 hours on 07/14/24 on the 400 block of North Mitchell Street. The investigation is ongoing.
On 7/16/2024 at 1512 hours, Officers took a harassment/theft report that occurred in the 300 block of Jefferson St. between 7/15/2024 at 1700 hours and today at 1500 hours. Jace Joeckel reported that he sent explicit images to an individual under the belief they were someone else. The unknown subject demanded payment or they would disseminate the images. Joeckel gave the subject approximately $5,000. Investigation ongoing.
On 7/16/24 at approximately 2147 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of West Pine Street. for a report of property damage. David Winters reported that a known male subject threw a crowbar into his back window of his vehicle. Nathaniel Siefkas, 26, was arrested on a charge of Property Damage. Investigation continues.
On 07/17/2024 at approximately 1258 hours, Officers stopped a white GMC Envoy at Maguire and Railroad Street. The female driver was arrested for a Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of No Insurance and Driving While Suspended. Emma Therese Morell, 21, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.
On 7/17/2024 at 1319 hours, Noah Sites reported that he found a small clear zip lock baggie of what appeared to be a white powder substance outside of his apartment building in the 800 block of Sunflower Street. Officers arrived on scene and seized the baggie for destruction.
On 7/17/2024 at 1729 hours, Minerva Thorne came to the WPD at 102-B S Holden St. to report a known female subject as missing. Minerva had not been able to contact the female subject since February of 2024. The female was entered as missing. She was later located in Liberty, MO. by officers. Minerva was informed of this and the case was closed.
On 07/17/2024 at approximately 2119 Hours, Officers were dispatched to a disturbance located in the 700 block of East Hale Lake Road. Tony Dale Barron, 37, was arrested for Assault and placed in the Johnson County Jail on a 24 hour hold.
On 7/18/2024 at approximately 1649 hours, Officers responded to a disturbance at 101 W Market Street. Eva Norton reported that a known male subject was causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, Max Ridenhour reported that the male subject assaulted him. Barron was again arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released with citations for Assault and Property Damage.
On 7/19/24 at 0749 hours, Officers responded to an agency assist for the courthouse deputies at 101 West Market Street. Barron was arrested for his probation violation warrant on original charges of felony Assault in the 3rd Degree (Special Victim) and transported to the Johnson County Jail.
On 07/18/2024 at approximately 0011 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of E Young St. for a report of a past occurred weapons offense. Investigation ongoing.
On 7/18/2024 at approximately 0307 hours, Officers were dispatched to 303 N Maguire Street in reference to a male subject passed out in his vehicle. Officers made contact with the male subject who provided a false name. Timothy D. Whittmeyer, 38, was arrested for Obstruction, one Lee's Summit Warrant on a charge of Resisting Arrest, and two Clay County Warrants. One Clay County warrant was on an original charge of Failure to Drive on the Right Half of the Roadway Resulting in an Accident, and Driving While Revoked. Whittmeyer was transported to the Johnson County Jail in lieu of bond.
On 07/18/2024 at 0345 Hours, Officers were dispatched to the report of a suicidal subject located in the 100 block of West Market Street. Officers made contact with an intoxicated female subject who stated she wanted to jump in front of a train. She was transported to WMMC by JCAD.
On 07/18/2024 at 0535 hours, Officers responded to the 300 Block of Jefferson St. in reference to a report of a suicidal subject. The male subject was voluntarily transported to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.
On 7/18/2024 at 0941 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet Avalanche at Gay Street and Ridgeview Drive. The female driver was subsequently arrested for Driving While Revoked. Melody Dawn Henke, 27, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.
On 07/18/2024 at approximately 1836 hours, I observed a known male on Holden Street after he was released from custody walk past a male subject and "shoulder checked" him. The male victim did not want to press charges at this time.
On 07/19/2024 at approximately 0010 hours, A female subject reported that she was assaulted by an unknown male subject at 131 West Pine Street. Officers determined one male and two female subjects engaged in a public affray at the address. Investigation ongoing.
On 7/18/24 at approximately 2208 hours, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 600 block of Spring Ridge Road. A male subject reported a female subject was suicidal with a weapon. Officers located the female subject and determined she was not suicidal.
On 07/19/24 at approximately 1037 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East Market Street in reference to a burglary past occurred reported by Lakeisha Williams. Williams reported that an unknown subject entered her residence on 07/18/24 and stole a security camera. Investigation ongoing.
On 07/20/24 at approximately 1305 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Broad Street in reference to a violation of an order of protection reported. A female subject reported that she was contacted by a known male subject via message on 07/19/24. Investigation ongoing.
On 07/20/24 at approximately 1009 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of South Mitchell Street in reference to a located suspicious substance reported Sara Hoover-Shaw. Upon arrival the substance was seized and transported to the Warrensburg PD. Investigation ongoing.
On 7/20/2024 at 1240 hours, William O'Meara reported that an Amazon package was stolen off of his porch in the 500 block of Broad Street. O'Meara stated that the package was delivered on 7/19/2024 at 1205 hours and that his landlord confirmed the delivery with camera footage. Investigation ongoing.
On 7/20/2024 at approximately 1212 hours, Officers were dispatched to 1400 block of Grandview Drive for a theft. Janice Lackey reported that two unknown male subjects stole items from her home on 7/18/2024 at approximately 1000 hours. Investigation ongoing.
On 07/21/24 at approximately 1607 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of South Mitchell Street in reference to a disturbance reported by a female subject. Upon arrival a male and female subject had reported they had assaulted each other. Both subjects had conflicting stories and wished not to pursue any charges.
On 7/20/2024 at 1813 hours, Officers responded to an attempted suicide in the 500 block of W Clark Street. A female subject was transported to WMMC by JCAD.
On 7/21/24 at approximately 0522 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of E Young Street for a report of a domestic assault. Upon arrival, a female subject stated that a known male subject assaulted her and threw her phone. She also stated that on 7/20/2024 he assaulted her. Investigation continues.
On 7/21/2024, at approximately 0838 hours, I was dispatched to HyVee at 410 E Young Street. Deborah Austin, the store manager, reported a known female subject stole $10.00 worth of merchandise on 7/19/2024. Cora Jean Comfort Miller, 31, was arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released with a summons.
On 7/21/2024 at approximately 1229 hours, Officers were dispatched to 710 North Washington Street. for a theft. Doug Staas reported that two Amazon packages worth $307.07 were stolen off his front porch on 7/20/2024 sometime between 1454 hours and 1800 hours. Investigation ongoing.
On 7/21/2024 at 1752 hours, Officers responded to the 300 block of N Maguire Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with an unknown male and female subject regarding the incident. Both parties had visible injuries. However, arrests were not made due to the inability to determine a primary aggressor. A note will be sent to the Prosecuting Attorney for review, and a determination on possible charges if necessary.
On 7/21/2024 at 1846 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 100 Block of North College Street in reference to a motor vehicle crash. A known female driver was arrested for driving without a valid license. Laura Elizabeth Marr, 34, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released.
On 7/21/24 at approximately 2201 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of W Clark Street for a report of property damage. Upon arrival, I located a 2016 Chevy Cruze that had some exterior damage to it. Investigation continues.
On 07/15/2024 at approximately 1048 hours, Jami Williams came to the Police Department to report a case of child neglect in the 500 Block of West Gay Street. The investigation is ongoing.
