Warrensburg Police Reports for September 23, 2024
AUTHOR'S NOTE: The Warrensburg Police Department issues their reports to the press once weekly. These reports are for every incident submitted from August 26th through September 1st, 2024. The reports were submitted to KSIS on September 20th, 2024.
On 08/26/2024 at 0907 hours, Officers were given a debit card that was found in the parking lot of Ridgeview Elementary at 215 South Ridgeview Drive. The debit card will be placed into evidence for safe keeping.
On 08/26/24 at 1039 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of North Ridgeview Drive in reference to a male subject with a possible warrant. The warrant was confirmed to be active from Douglas County Kansas on original charges of Violation of a Court Order, two counts of Domestic Battery, and Criminal Damage to Property. The warrants were issued through Lawrence Kansas on July 29th, 2024. Isidro Francisco Tomas, 27, was placed under arrest and was transported to the Johnson County Jail. Tomas signed the Waiver of Extradition and Consent to Return on September 11th, 2024, and is scheduled for extradition on October 16th, 2024.
On 08/26/24 at approximately 1237 hours, Officers were dispatched to the Warrensburg Police Department in reference to a male subject attempting to turn himself in for a possible warrant. The warrant was confirmed and the male subject was arrested and transported to the Johnson County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash only bond. Michael Lee Conway, 19, was booked in on his Probation Violation warrant on original charges of felony Violation of an Order of Protection (2nd Offense).
On 8/26/24 at 1633 hours, Officers were dispatched to a domestic assault that had occurred 15 minutes prior in the 1200 Block of South Holden Street. A fight was determined to have happened between two juvenile subjects. Charges of domestic assault in the 3rd degree have been referred to the JOCO Juvenile Office for both subjects involved.
On 08/27/2024 at 0306 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a gold Ford Ranger near the intersection of South Maguire Street and Hamilton Street. Jack Curtis Hamm, 38, was arrested for Driving While Suspended and cited for Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance. Hamm was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released with his copies of the two citations.
On 8/27/2024 at 1007 hours, A known male subject was placed under arrest in the 200 block of S Holden St. (Municipal Court) for an active warrant out of Johnson County on original charges of Driving While Revoked (2nd or 3rd Offense). Jonathan Wayne Reddell, 56, was transported to the Johnson County Jail.
On 08/27/24 at 1359 hours, Officers were dispatched to 423 N Holden Street in reference to a wellbeing check. A male subject was arrested for urinating in public. William Keith Davidson Jr., 53, was cited on scene and released to JCAD to be transported to WMMC.
On 8/27/24 at 1522 hours, Officers responded to a past occurred theft that occurred at a retail outlet located at 328 East Young Street Suite A. The store manager reported that two male subjects left the store without paying for several items on 8/27/24 around 1300 t0 1330 hours. A male subject was later arrested on 8/31/24 for the theft. David Thomas Winters, 29, was issued a summons and released from the WPD.
On 8/27/2024 at 0900 hours, a known male subject appeared at Municipal Court, 200 S. Holden Street, regarding a probation violation. The Municipal Court Judge revoked the known male subject's probation. Santiago Matheus, 53, was transported to the Johnson County Jail to server a 10 day jail sentence.
On 8/28/2024 at approximately 10306 hours, Officers were dispatched to a child locked in a vehicle at 316 West Young Street. Upon arrival, multiple attempts were made to unlock the vehicle with tools. The attempts were unsuccessful. With the consent of the vehicle owner, the rear driver side cargo window was broken and the child was taken to a cool place.
On 08/28/2024 at approximately 1420 hours, Officers were dispatched to a theft that occurred at a gas station located at 303 North Maguire Street. A male subject entered the store and took multiple items and left the store without paying. The male subject was later located and arrested for shoplifting. Thomas Nodie Du'ane West, 30, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released.
On 08/28/2024 around 1813 hours, Officers received information that a juvenile made threats via Snapchat about the Warrensburg High School, 1411 S Ridgeview Drive. The Juvenile subject was taken into custody and placed in the Cass County Juvenile Detention Center.
On 08/28/2024 at approximately 2032 hours, Kristina Palmer reported that she was assaulted by a known male subject on 08/02/2024 at 1203 hours, in the 1200 block of Half Day Drive. The male subject was arrested. Steven Phillip Palmer, 32, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released with a signed summons.
On 8/29/2024 at approximately 0900 hours, Brandon Figg, the Assistant Principal at Warrensburg Middle School, 640 E Gay Street, spoke with Warrensburg Police. Figg reported that a juvenile stated that they had a marijuana pipe, a tobacco vape, and a shooter bottle of alcohol in their backpack. The items were seized. The juvenile was released to a parent. A juvenile referral was completed.
On 8/29/2024 at approximately 0858 hours, while investigating a different matter involving a vehicle, Edward Peterson reported that a known male subject used his information to try and obtain records from the Warrensburg Police Department, at 102 S Holden Street on 8/22/2024. The investigation is ongoing.
On 8/29/2024 at 1123 hours, Warrensburg Detectives received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children through the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. NCMEC reported possible child trafficking located in a post online. Investigation is ongoing.
On 08/29/24 at 1208 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan Altima in the 600 block of Burkarth Road. A male subject was arrested for driving while revoked. Darrius J. Sheridan, 29, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.
On 08/29/2024 at 1359 hours, Officers were informed by administration at the Warrensburg High School, 1411 S Ridgeview Drive, that they had found narcotics on a juvenile at the school. The Juvenile was arrested for possession. This report will be referred to the Johnson County Juvenile Office.
On 08/29/2024 at 1400 hours, Officers were made aware of an assault that occurred at the Warrensburg High School, 1411 S Ridgeview Drive. Two juveniles got into a physical altercation in the bathrooms. This report will be forwarded to the Johnson County Juvenile Office.
On 8/29/2024 at approximately 1300 hours, Officers were advised a juvenile made threats toward the Warrensburg Middle School, 640 East Gay Street. The juvenile was deescalated and released to a parent. This report will be forwarded to the Juvenile Office.
08/29/24 at 1613 hours, I was dispatched to the 400 block of N Holden St. in reference to a missing juvenile. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of W North St. The juvenile was located inside the vehicle and a male subject was arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Zackary Jay Morell, 26, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.
On 8/29/2024 at 1959 hours, Jessica Smith requested to speak an officer about an ex parte order with a male subject in the 400 block of Jackson Street. The male was contacted and arrested for two active Sedalia Police Department warrants on charges of Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle. Robert William Smith, 41, of Sedalia, was transported to the Johnson County Jail. Smith was also served with an Order of Protection that states he is not to come within 300 feet the respondent, which is in effect until September of 2026. Another warrant for Smith was issued on September 9th on charges of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. That warrant was served on September 13th, with a $10,000 cash or surety bond.
On 08/29/2024 at 2104 hours, Mark Montgomery reported $5000.00 worth of items were stolen from 417 North Maguire Street sometime over the last few weeks. Investigation continues.
On 8/30/2024 at 0019 hours, William McGough reported four known male subjects stole a cooler and microwave from his house at 207 Broad Street. The cooler was located and returned. The four males subjects agreed to reimburse William for the microwave.
On 8/30/2024 at approximately 1300 hours, I was called to 640 E Gay Street, Warrensburg Middle School, by school staff. A known juvenile reported an unknown juvenile posted private sexual images of the juvenile to a website. Investigation ongoing.
On 8/30/24 at 1733 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a silver Buick Regal in the 300 Block of North Maguire Street. The female driver was arrested for Driving While Revoked. Malea Dianne Cornelius, 19, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released on summonses of Improper Registration, No Insurance, and Driving While Revoked.
On 8/31/2024 at 0138 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of East North Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. A female subject was found with a large laceration on her arm with heavy bleeding. A tourniquet was applied and she was transported to WMMC. Investigation continues.
On 08/31/2024 at approximately 1710 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop at North Maguire Street and US 50 HWY on a 1998 Plymouth Van. The driver was arrested for an active Lees Summit PD warrant and placed in the Johnson County Jail. Omar Alejos-Reyna, 46, was arrested for his FTA warrants on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle On The Highway Without a Valid License, two counts of Operating a Motor Vehicle Knowing the Owner Has Not Maintained Financial Responsibility, two counts of Expired Plates, and Failure To Produce License On Demand. Total bond was set at $1360 cash only.
On 8/31/2024 at 1941 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Prairie Hill Drive in reference to a domestic in progress. A male subject reported that a known female subject assaulted him. The female subject was arrested for domestic assault. Nia Ariana Thoum Manivanh, 26, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.
On 08/31/2024 at 1951 hours, Officers were dispatched to a retail store at 301 East Cooper Boulevard in reference to a shoplifting report. A known female subject was arrested for stealing and a warrant out of the Johnson County Sheriff's Office on original charges of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Operating a Motor Vehicle With out Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Toni Michelle Brant, 57, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and then transported to the Johnson County Jail in lieu of bond.
On 9/1/2024 at 0000 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Hawthorne Blvd. for a domestic disturbance. A male subject reported that he and known female subject got into a physical altercation. Due to conflicting stories, no arrest were made.
On 09/01/2024 at 0028 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of West Culton Street for a reported disturbance. A female victim reported she was physically assaulted by two known juvenile. A male victim reported he was assaulted by an unknown male subject. The female victim requested to press charges against the two juvenile. The male victim declined pressing charges. This report will be forwarded to the juvenile office.
On 9/1/2024 at 0054 hours, Officers were flagged down by a male subject who stated he was suicidal and that he was struggling with addiction. He was transported to WMMC and an affidavit was completed.
On 09/01/2024 at approximately 1746 hours, Officers received a phone call from Dixie Hays regarding threats against the members of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity House, 800 South Holden Street. Hays provided text messages from a known male subject stating he was going to bring a gun to the frat house and made suicidal and homicidal statements. The investigation is ongoing.
On 9/1/24 at approximately 1935 hours, I was dispatched to the 300 block of North Maguire Street for a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was later found in Knob Noster. Michael Lanell Herron, 35, was arrested for Theft of a Motor Vehicle and placed in the Johnson County Jail on a 24 hour hold.
On 9/1/24 at 2200 hours, Officers were dispatched to S Holden and South St. for a male driver passed out in a vehicle. Upon arrival, a male subject was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Travis Julian Henderson, 33, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released.
On 09/01/2024 at 2033 hours, I was dispatched to 713 Anderson Street for a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to the hospital by ambulance. At the hospital, Ronney Robert Carnnahan, 61, was arrested on scene for Driving While Revoked and cited for Failure to Provide Proof of Valid Insurance.
