Warrensburg Police Reports for September 9, 2024
AUTHOR'S NOTE: The Warrensburg Police Department issues their reports to the press once weekly. These reports are for every incident submitted from August 12th through August 18th, 2024. The reports were submitted to KSIS on September 6, 2024.
On 08/11/2024 at approximately 1254 hours, Officers received information of a theft from a motor vehicle that occurred in the 400 block of North Mitchell Street. Joslyn Crank reported that her vehicle had been broken into and multiple items were stolen. One female suspect was arrested and booked at WPD for theft from a motor vehicle and trespass of a motor vehicle. The female subject* was placed in Johnson County Jail for extradition on an active Raymore PD warrant.
On 08/11/2024 at approximately 1254 hours, Officers received information of a theft from a motor vehicle that occurred in the 400 block of North Mitchell Street. Olivia Dumas reported that her vehicle had been broken into and multiple items were stolen. Mashele Marie Overbey, 46, was arrested and booked at WPD for Theft from a Motor Vehicle and Trespass from a Motor Vehicle. Overbey was placed in Johnson County Jail for extradition on an active Raymore PD warrant for a charge of Larceny.
On 8/12/2024 at 0512 hours, Spencer Teiken reported that a male subject was attempting to break into the residence at 1000 Cheatham Court. Gabriel A. LaClair, 43, was arrested for Peace Disturbance. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.
On 8/12/2024 at 1134 hours, Warrensburg Detectives received a tip from NCMEC concerning the distribution of child sexual abuse material within the city limits of Warrensburg. Investigation is ongoing.
On 8/12/24 at 1324 hours, Officers took a report of theft and property damage that occurred in the 500 Block of McGoodwin Street. Jahniese Marie Thomas, 22, was later located and arrested for property damage. She was booked and released from the WPD.
On 8/13/24 at 1103 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a silver Honda Civic in the 400 Block of Anderson Street. Ryan Charles Rhoads, 25, was arrested and transported to the WPD where he was booked and released on charges of Driving without a Valid License and No Seatbelt.
On 08/13/24 at approximately 1151 hours, Officers were dispatched to the intersection South Maguire and East South Street in reference to a motor vehicle crash. Christopher Roy Ward, 29, was arrested for Driving While Revoked. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released with citations for Driving While Revoked/Suspended, No Insurance, and Following Too Close.
On 8/13/24 at 1250 hours, Officers took a report of a sex offender that had been present in a city park in the 400 Block of East Gay Street on 5/22/24 at 0848 hours. Russell Dean Perkins, 81, was arrested for a sex offender offense**. He was booked and released from the WPD. Officers took reports of Perkins having been present in that same city park multiple times between December of 2023 and May of 2024. Investigation ongoing.
On 8/13/2024 at 1528 hours, Officers responded to the 400 block of East North Street for a report of an unrestrained dog. Mary Creswell-Russo reported that a tenant at the complex had their dog off leash, and it charged at her dog. Heidi Michelle Spears, 50, was issued a summons for Animal At Large.
On 08/13/24 at approximately 1519 hours, Officers were dispatched to 102 South Holden Street in reference to fraud that occurred in the past, reported by Jeannette Warren. Upon arrival, Warren reported fraudulent charges to her account that occurred between the dates of 07/01/24 and 07/21/24.
On 8/13/2024 at 1957 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of East Russell Avenue in reference to a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was a 2004 Silver F250 crew cab 4x4. The vehicle was last seen going Eastbound on Russell Ave. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle. Investigation continues.
On 8/13/2024 at 2150 hours, Officers were dispatched to a grocery store at 410 East Young Street in reference to a theft. An unidentified female subject shoplifted approximately $115.00 worth of goods. The female subject fled the scene
before Officers arrived. Officers were unable to locate the suspect. Investigation ongoing.
On 08/14/2024 at approximately 0759 hours, Officers responded to 625 West Clark Street in regards to a stolen motor vehicle. Chloe Hartzell reported that a known male subject stole her 2001 Chrysler Voyager between 2300 hours on 08/13 and 0800 on 08/14. The vehicle was located by Richmond Police Department and they arrested the male subject for another violation. The male's name was not listed in the report.
On 8/14/2024 at approximately 0946 hours, Officers were dispatched to the Train Depot at 100 South Holden Street for trespassing. Max Ridenhour reported that a known male subject was in the train depot drinking alcohol. Ted Lee Crist, 50, was arrested for a probation violation warrant on original charges of Property Damage and Assault with a total cash only bond of $500. Crist was arrested and placed in the Johnson County Jail.
On 8/14/2024 at 1516 hours, Officers made contact with a known female subject with a Pettis County warrant in the area of 627 West Clark Street. Maranda Mae Richmond, 23, was arrested for her warrant on a felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Richmond was unable to post bond and was placed in the Johnson County Jail.
On 8/14/2024 at 1542 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of West Young Street near the Hwy 50 intersection for a check the well being on a male and female subject. Officers spoke with Robert James Mullen, 38, who had a Warrant
out of Warrensburg on charges of Stealing and Peace Disturbance. Mullen was arrested, transported the WMMC for a fit for confinement check, then transported to Johnson County Jail in lieu of bond.
On 8/14/2024 at approximately 1630 hours, Officers were dispatched to a business at 301 East Cooper Boulevard for a theft. Shirley Lowry reported that her purse had been stolen from the parking lot on 8/14/2024 at approximately 1000 hours. Investigation is ongoing.
On 08/14/2024 at 2122 hours, Jonathan Weitzel reported that a unknown male subject assaulted him and stole his wallet on 08/11/2024 between 1830-2130 hours somewhere between the 100 Block of West Pine Street and the 800 Block of East Gay Street. Investigation is ongoing.
On 8/15/2024 at approximately 0646 hours, Officers were dispatched to a disturbance at fast food restaurant, 311 East Young Street. Employees stated that a female subject was cussing and screaming inside the restaurant. Management wanted to trespass the female subject. Officers made contact with the female subject, who provided several names. After multiple attempts to locate the female's real identity with no results, she was placed under arrest for obstruction and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department. The female subject did not cooperate with the booking process and was charged with another obstruction charge. She was booked and released. Later that same day, employees of a government building that is open to the public requested Officers to 432 North Holden Street for a female causing a disturbance by yelling and hitting a vehicle. Tiffaney Erin Sheppard, 33, arrested for Peace Disturbance, Failure to Obey a Lawful Order and Giving False Information to An Officer. Sheppard was then transported to the Johnson County Jail to be placed on a 24 hour hold. A 96 hour hold was submitted for mental health concerns.
On 8/15/2024 at approximately 0752 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Burkarth Road for a report of assault. A known female subject reported that an unknown male subject sexually assaulted her on 8/14/2024 at approximately 2300 hours in the 600 block of Burkarth Road. Investigation is ongoing.
On 8/15/2024 at approximately 1442 hours, Officers were dispatched to the WPD at 102-B South Holden Street. Nileshrao Salunkhe reported that an unknown suspect scratched his blue Mazda CX3 multiple times sometime between 1330 hours and 1900 hours on 7/21/2024. The vehicle was parked in the parking lot of 715 Missouri Street, in Warrensburg. Salunkhe showed Officers an estimate to fix the vehicle which was $7,119.03. A possible female suspect was identified, but Salunkhe no longer wishes to file charges.
On 08/16/2024 at approximately 0029 hours, Officers assisted Johnson County Sheriff's Office deputies at 130 SW Business 13 Highway for a physical domestic disturbance. A female subject was detained and released to the Johnson County Deputies. The female was not named in the report.
On 08/16/24 at approximately 1641 hours, I was dispatched to 127 East Market Street in regards to a wanted female subject. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the wanted female subject, and the Probation Violation warrant on original felony charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance was confirmed. Jessica M. Jakobe, 32, was arrested and taken into custody and placed into the Johnson County Jail in lieu of $25,000.00 cash only bond.
On 8/16/2024 at 1956 hours, Officers were dispatched to a hospital in Warrensburg in reference to an animal bite. Officers spoke to the victim and took photographs of the injuries. The victim was left in the care of the hospital.
On 08/16/2024 at approximately 2306 hours, I conducted a traffic stop on a gold ford Ranger in the 300 block of Jefferson. The driver was arrested for driving while suspended. Jack Curtis Hamm, 38, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released. Hamm was also cited for no insurance and improper registration.
On 8/17/24 at approximately 0118 hours, a manager of a clothing retailer at 121 West Pine Street provided Officers with two different fictitious driver's licenses. The items were confiscated from a customer by management. Investigation continues.
On 08/16/24 at 1802 hours, Officers responded to the 500 block of Cantebury Drive in reference to a disturbance. A female subject reported that two male subjects were trying to fight a known male subject. Devonte J. Yarbrough, 22, was arrested for his outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear on original charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Alcohol). He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed, posted of $500 cash and was released.
On 08/17/24 at approximately 0941 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Oakmont Drive in reference to a medical call reported by a third party. Upon arrival, a male subject was located deceased. Investigation ongoing.
On 08/17/24 at 1228 hours, Erin Walker reported fraud in the 200 block of Emerson Street. Walker stated three unauthorized transactions were made on her credit card. Investigation ongoing.
On 08/17/24 at 1300 hours, A female subject reported an assault in the 200 block of West Young Street. The female subject stated a male subject assaulted her after an argument. Investigation ongoing.
On 08/17/2024 at 1911 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of 8th Street Terrace in reference to a found firearm. Officers seized part of a pellet rifle for destruction.
On 8/17/24 at approximately 2128 hours, Officers were dispatched to a wrong way driver on East Hale Lake Road. Upon arrival, a female subject was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Kati Nicole Kelly, 35, was booked and released from WPD.
On 8/17/2024 at 2150 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Sandra Drive in reference to a domestic disturbance. The male suspect fled the scene before Officers arrived. Officers arrived on scene and spoke to the female victim. She was uncooperative and would not provide information to Officers.
On 8/18/24 at approximately 0126 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of South Maguire Street for a report of property damage. Upon arrival, a male subject was arrested for throwing a phone at a vehicle and causing damage. Keyvin Midasy, 27, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released.
On 08/16/24 at approximately 1147 hours, Officers were dispatched to the WPD at 102-B S Holden Street in reference to an ex-parte violation. The victim reported the violation occurred on 08/15/24 between the hours of 1330 to 1345 hours in the 100 block of South Holden Street. Investigation ongoing.
On 8/18/2024 at approximately 0947 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a silver Volkswagen Jetta. Landon Bryant Johnson, 20, was arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released for Possession of a Controlled Substance and was cited for No Registration.
On 8/18/24 at approximately 1901 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of East Clark Street for a cardiac arrest. Upon arrival, a female subject was found not conscious or breathing in which CPR was started. She did not respond to CPR and was declared deceased. Employees with a local funeral home arrived on scene and took custody her.
On 8/18/2024 at 1838 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Cantebury Drive in reference to a domestic disturbance. The victim reported that he was assaulted by a Krista Nicole Sandifer***, 32. The female suspect fled the scene before Officers arrived. Investigation ongoing.
On 08/14/2024 at approximately 1647 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a blue Honda Odyssey at the intersection of South Maguire and Carpenter Street. Laura Elizabeth Marr, 35, was arrested and cited on scene for Driving with an Expired License and Failure to Provide Insurance.
*The name of the female was not listed in the report.
***Perkins is a Tier III sex offender due to a conviction of Statutory Sodomy in the 1st Degree and Sexual Misconduct with a Child Under the Age of 15 in Lafayette County (Higginsville) in 2001. Tier III offenders remain on the registry for the rest of their lives and report to the CLEO every 90 days. In Missouri, Tier 3 sex offenders are restricted from being within 500 feet of public parks with playgrounds or swimming pools.
***Sandifer is listed as the arrestee in case number 2024-01485. Her arrest is not mentioned in the narrative of the report, but is listed in the arrest report list.
