Will The Third Time Be The Charm For Trace Adkins?
Will the third time Trace Adkins has been scheduled to play the Missouri State Fair be the charm? We'll all find out Thursday, August 11 at 7:30 PM CDT.
On February 18, 2020 the Missouri State Fair announced 2 grandstand shows for what they hoped would be the 2020 State Fair. The Steve Miller Band and Marty Stuart would close the fair on August 22, and Trace Adkins would open the fair on August, 13. Of course, that fair never happened. Covid-19 caused the Fair's cancellation and a youth livestock completion was held instead.
Last year, the Missouri State Fair tried to make good on the Trace Adkins show by slating him as the fair opener on August 12. Mother nature, however, had other ideas. During the late afternoon hours, storms rolled into Sedalia, and after concertgoers and the fair tried to wait out a delay of over two hours they canceled the Trace Adkins show.
So here we are, another year of the Missouri State Fair. And another year where the Fair has scheduled Trace Adkins to be the opening grandstand act. I can't say I'm surprised. Although, I'll admit, trotting Trace Adkins out as the Fair opener for the third time, and after announcing ZZ Top is kind of a letdown. But that's just my opinion. And I'm sure many will love the show.
Lonestar, celebrating 30 years, will open the show for Adkins. They're touring in support of their album "10 to 1" which features re-recordings of all their #1 hits.
Here are the details you need to know: The show is Thursday, August 11, at 7:30 PM CDT. Ticket costs are $45 if you want a seat on the track. $35 if you want a grandstand seat. And tickets, of course, do not include Fair admission. All seats are reserved and convenience charges will be applied to all tickets. Tickets for all Missouri State Fair Shows will go on sale through Etix on Tuesday, June 28, at 9:00 AM CDT. The Missouri State Fair Box Office will be open on June 28 at Noon for walk-up orders while tickets are available.
