When I was a teenager there were certain jobs that just seemed cool. Like working at the outdoor concert venue a couple of towns over from where I lived. Or being hired as an usher at the movie theater in the mall. Or getting a job at a record store. Yet, I can tell you the hiring process wasn't half as fun as you'll have at Worlds of Fun during their hiring event next Sunday, April 24.

Take it from me, a guy who talks on the radio, cool jobs are fun to do. But I never had a job where I got to ride some roller coasters after applying. Unless you count emotional roller coasters, I've been on a couple of those.

Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun is looking to hire 3,000 seasonal employees, who they call ambassadors, for the 2022 season. And next Sunday is their big hiring even at the park. So why will it be so fun? It's because their hiring event next Sunday is their apply & ride hiring event.

Everyone who comes out to the park next Sunday to apply for a position will receive free admission to the park that day and can ride the rides. Did I mention that there's another cool aspect to this? The park isn't open to the public that day. So yeah, it's probably a very different way to experience Worlds of Fun. And maybe come away with a pretty cool summer job.

Pay is $14-$17 dollars per hour for those 16 and older. And Worlds of Fun says working there will help candidates develop a great variety of skills that can help them later in life. Some of the perks according to the theme park include flexible schedules, free admission to all Cedar Fair parks, and free tickets for family and friends.

If you're looking at attending the Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun job fair, enter through the business entrance and park in lot G or H, and walk to the Grand Pavillion. From there follow the signs. Don't forget you'll need to bring two forms of ID with you.
