You’ll Want To See the BMX Pros Trick Team At the State Fair
At some point in high school before my friend Steve got into really hard heavy metal and rap and hip hop he developed an interest in BMX, which is short for Bicycle Motorcross. Not so much the racing, but the amazing stunts some of these riders can do.
So on a Saturday afternoon, he dragged me to this BMX stunt show that, unknown to me until I got there, featured some of the best riders in the Country. I mean it was this show in the parking lot of a strip mall anchored by a bike shop. Wow, by the time it was over I was amazed. Amazed enough to have a few or the riders sign a poster and hang it in my room for a few years.
No, I didn't become a big BMX fan. Or start saving for my own BMX bike. Or have a desire to go this homemade bike trail behind the railroad tracks where kids would jump their bikes and attempt to do various stunts. I had my fill of that a couple of years prior when I landed hard off a jump and split my lip open on one of my teeth.
But it was amazing to watch these pros do their thing, and I suspect I'll be amazed once again when I check out the show at the Missouri State Fair. I'm already impressed just watching this hype video:
The BMX Pros Trick Team will be performing every day of the Fair, and have scheduled performances at these times:
