1 Dead, 1 Injured in Morgan County Wreck

A one-vehicle wreck in Morgan County on June 15 claimed the life of a man from Barnett, MO.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the wreck at 4:15 p.m., on Highway 52 just west of Buttercup Road.

According to the online crash report, 61-year old Billy D. Scrivner, of Barnett, was the driver of a 2002 Ford Excursion, when the vehicle experienced a mechanical failure, causing it to travel off the road and into a field where it overturned several times.

Scrivner was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body was taken to Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon.

A passenger, 55-year old Penny K. Houston, of Smithton, MO, suffered serious injures. She was taken to Capital Region Hospital for treatment.
