Even though it hasn't felt like it, spring has been here for a while. Before too much longer it will time for summer! Here's a list of dates for some of this summer's biggest events in and around Sedalia, Missouri.

Sedalia's Scott Joplin International Ragtime Festival will be May 30-June 2. There will be free outdoor venues and eight ticket concerts during the festival, in addition to a pub crawl, art exhibit, and silent films accompanied by live performances.

2018 is the sixth year for Midwest Dragfest at the Missouri State Fairgrounds. Dates are June 1-3. Midwest Dragfest features over 300 custom trucks, cars, bikes, and everything in between. $1000 best in show, top 50 trophies, and many “best of” trophies. Pre-registration is $30 at midwestdragfest.net. Registration on the day of the show is $40. There is a $5.00 spectator fee. Children age 12 and under, get in free.

The 29th Annual Dream Factory Truck & Tractor Pull is Saturday, June 2 at the Missouri State Fairgrounds. The ticket Office opens at 5 p.m. and the event starts at 7.  The Sedalia Area Dream Factory covers an eight-county area - Pettis, Benton, Henry, Cooper, Johnson, Lafayette, Morgan and Saline counties.

The Show Me Crafters' Summer Craft Show is June 16 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Ag Building at the Missouri State Fairgrounds.

Swap Meet June 15-June 16 on the Northeast Parking Lot of the Missouri State Fairgrounds.

John Michael Montgomery will be the headliner at the Show-me Freedom Festival on July 4 at the Missouri State Fairgrounds. Michael Tyler will open. There will be free admission all day and there will also be fireworks after dark sponsored by Sedalia Parks & Rec. During the day, there will be bounce houses, food trucks and a barbecue contest.

The Sedalia Lions Club's Backyard Bash will be at the Missouri State Fairgrounds on July 21. Beer garden, cocktail bar, fish fry, and live  bands. This event is held every year in July.

The Missouri State Fair will be August 9-19 in Sedalia. Entertainers on the Pepsi Grandstand for this year include Rock of the Seventies with Foghat, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Firefall and Pat Travers Band on August 10; The Roots and Boots Tour with Sammy Kershaw, Aaron Tippin and Collin Raye on August 14; The Southern Uprising Tour, starring Travis Tritt, The Charlie Daniels Band and The Marshall Tucker Band on August 15; and Casting Crowns and Zach Williams on August 16. The Missouri State Fair Shootout is August 12 and the Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pulling Association will be August 13. Several dates remain open with concerts/entertainment still to be announced.
