The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2-vehicle accident in Saline County that sent three people to the hospital Tuesday evening.

The accident occurred just before 6:00, on MO-240 at Lime Avenue.

A 1998 Ford Taurus changed lanes in an attempt to pass another vehicle. The Taurus then traveled into the path of a 1992 Dodge Caravan, striking the Dodge on the driver’s side.

The driver of the Taurus, 20-year old Collin R. Black, of Raymore, MO, suffered minor injuries and was taken to University of Columbia Hospital for treatment. A passenger in the Taurus, 25-year old Hope L. Winston, of Gilliam, MO had minor injuries as well. She was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital by Saline County EMS, for treatment.

The driver of the Dodge, 49-year old Rodney E. Short, of Slater, MO, received minor injuries and was also transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital for treatment.

According to the report, both vehicles were totaled in the accident.
