18-year-old Sedalia man found in possession of a controlled substance

Around 5:45 Monday evening Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle at Main and Missouri. A check on the occupants revealed that 18-year-old Anthony Wayne Medrano of Sedalia was in possession of a controlled substance. The police report states Medrano was released at the police station pending formal charges.

Woman reports a scam at a Sedalia business Monday

On Monday a woman went to the police station to report a scam. According to the woman she is an assistant manager at a business in the 3400 block of East Broadway. The woman said a subject claiming to be with the utility company threatened to turn off the company’s electric if she did not pay a $1000 bill immediately. There was no other information in the police report.

Male victim reports his wife assaulted him at work

Just before 12:30 this (Tuesday) morning a man went to the police station to report his wife had assaulted him at work. According to the man the woman then returned to her home. No further information was available at news time.

Prescription Medication stolen from a victim’s vehicle Monday afternoon

Around 1:40 Monday afternoon a victim reported the theft of medication from the seat of his vehicle. According to the victim he went into a convenience store, and when he returned to his vehicle the medicine was missing. There were no suspects at news time.

Bike found on South Ohio

An adult sized bicycle has been found in the 400 block of South Ohio according to a Sedalia Police report. The bicycle has been placed in the bike shed at the police station as found property.

Benton County Accident involving a deer reported Monday Evening

At 5:40 Monday evening the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one vehicle accident on Highway 52 two miles west of Cole Camp. According to the accident report the accident occurred as the westbound 2005 Toyota driven by 55-year-old Kevin John of Columbia collided with a deer. John was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Cole Camp EMS.
