Sedalia man arrested on a no-bond parole violation warrant Wednesday

At 3:07 Wednesday afternoon Sedalia Police observed a subject known to have a parole violation warrant, walking in the 300 block of East Pettis. Upon contact with the suspect, 28-year-old Carlos Elie Staten of Sedalia the warrant was confirmed. At the time of the police report Staten was in the Pettis County Jail on the no-bond warrant.

Traffic stop for speeding nets a man with a Marshall warrant

Just before 3am this (Thursday) morning Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 2700 block of West Broadway. Upon contact with the occupants a passenger, 28-year-old Joey Contreras of Sedalia was found to have an active warrant out of Marshall. The police report states the officers transported Contreras to the Saline County Line where he was placed into the custody of the Marshall Police Department.

Speeder in jail for driving while suspended this (Thursday) morning

At 3:40 this (Thursday) morning Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle at Broadway and Limit for speeding. A check on the driver 22-year-old Mark Anthony Dean of Sedalia revealed he had an active warrant for driving while suspended. Dean was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending formal charges

Burglary investigated in the 900 block of Madison Wednesday evening

Around 5:20 Wednesday evening the Sedalia Police responded to a burglary complaint in the 900 block of Madison. Upon contact with the victims they reported their home was entered unlawfully, and items including a pillow and back pack were removed. There was no information on the suspect, or suspects at news time.

Raccoon attacks a man on a bicycle in the area of 24th and Kentucky Wednesday night

Just before 11pm Wednesday night Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Bothwell Regional Health Center on an animal bite report. Upon arrival officers made contact with the victim, who told them a raccoon had ran under his bicycle as he rode in the area of 24th and Kentucky. The raccoon reportedly attacked the man’s leg. The police report states there was no bite on the victim, and he was released from the hospital.
