Billy Ray Klein, 65, of Smithton, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born August 29, 1948, in Boonville, son of Wray Eugene and Bessie Juanita Walters Klein. On May 25, 1968, in Florence, he was married to Caren B. Worthley, who survives of the home.

Billy retired from Clarkson Construction. He also owned and operated Kansas City Sedalia Express for 13 years. He was a member of Moose Lodge 1494 and the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and barbecuing. He will be remembered as a hardworking man.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two children, Kimberly Cochran (Wayne), and B.J. Klein (Gina), all of Smithton; his mother, Bessie Klein, of Florence; three grandchildren, Kandice, Britney and Brandon; two great-grandchildren, Trenaiti and Marissa; two brothers, Jack Klein, of Camdenton, and John Klein, of Florence; and two sisters, Nita Faye Klein, of Florence, and Vera Jackson, of Columbia.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Matthew Wade Klein.

According to Billy's wishes, no services are planned. Burial will be in the Florence Methodist Church Cemetery.
