The burn ban that was recently implemented for Pettis County has been removed, according to the Pettis County Fire Department.

"Please keep alert of wind conditions and your surroundings while burning.
Remember before burning please call in and give your address, name and phone number, so that we can report a controlled fire.

Thank you for your support during these past few days during the Burn Ban," commented Pettis County Fire Chief Mike Harding said on Monday morning.

And, according to Sedalia Fire Chief Matt Irwin, the burn ban is also lifted in the City of Sedalia due to recent rain.

"The Sedalia Fire Department would still like to urge the community to use caution when burning and to never leave a fire unattended," said Sedalia Fire Chief Irwin.

"Please remember any burning of brush piles still requires a burn permit," he stressed.
