Celebrate 25 Years of “Friends” by Seeing Them On the Big Screen
It was 1994 when "Friends" debuted on NBC. That was during the era where EVERYONE seemed to watch NBC on Thursday nights. There was "Friends", "Seinfeld", "Mad About You" and then at nine "E.R." If you're a big fan of "Friends" you'll be able to see twelve iconic episodes over three days at the end of September and beginning of October on the big screen.
Fathom Events, you've seen trailers for their screenings when you've gone to the movies in Kansas City or other big cities, is presenting "Friends 25th The One With the Anniversary" on September 23, September 28 and October 2.
They've taken twelve classic episodes and remastered them in 4K from the original 35mm negative. They'll screen four a week at various theaters that carry their programming.
Living in small towns like most of us do, it's going to take some effort if you want to attend these screenings. Most likely it'll require a trip into the Kansas City area. At this point Fathom Events hasn't released the theaters that will be showing the episodes, however, typing in the zip codes for Sedalia and Warrensburg for their programming scheduled to run in the next couple of weeks tells me -- this isn't going to be showing at the Galaxy in Sedalia, or even the AMC Classic in Warrennsburg.
My guess is the screenings will be offered at some of these Kansas City area theaters:
AMC Independence Commons 20, Regal Kansas City 18 Cinemas, AMC Ward Parkway 14, AMC Town Center 20, Cinemark 20 Merriam and probably others. Fathom Events will have a list of theaters where the feature will be showing when tickets go on sale Friday August 16.
Four classic episodes will be screened each night. The episodes that will be featured are:
- "Pilot –Re Do", "The One With The Black Out", "The One With The Birth", "The One Where Ross Finds Out"
- "The One With The Prom Video", "The One Where No One’s Ready", "The One With The Morning After", "The One With The Embryos"
- "The One With Chandler In A Box", "The One With Ross’s Wedding – Part 2", "The One Where Everyone Finds Out", "The One Where Ross Got High"
So which "Friends" episode is your favorite?
