Central Missouri Fire Kills Six Horses and Three Dogs
A fire at a horse training facility in central Missouri has left six horses and three dogs dead and injured one person.
The fire at Fairview Farms in New Bloomfield started around 1 p.m. Monday and burned a horse training arena and two barns.
New Bloomfield Fire Protection District Chief Travis Bell said one person suffered minor burns and was treated at the scene. Bell said that a fire marshal was expected to visit the scene on Tuesday to investigate the cause of the fire.
Boone County Northern District Commissioner Janet Thompson said Tuesday at a commission meeting that 10 of the displaced horses were taken to the Central Missouri Events Center.
