According to a report, Richard “Troy” Heston of Cole Camp came to the door, and an overwhelming odor of marijuana came out of the room. Heston gave consent to search the room, and deputies located a crystal substance, marijuana, new empty baggies, a digital scale and US currency. Deputies also located evidence that the crystal substance was being sold from the motel room.

Deputies discovered the key to the stolen truck inside the room. License plates that were attached to the truck were found to be stolen out of Sedalia. Dispatch contacted the owner of the plates, and charges were requested.

Heston was then arrested of charges of possession of a controlled substance. Officers obtained a warrant from the prosecutor's office and a bond of $50,000 was set. Investigation continues and several other charges against Heston are possible.

Pettis County deputies were assisted by the Mid-Mo Drug Task Force, Sedalia Police, Benton County Sheriff's Office and Cole Camp Police.
