The Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Cornerstone Caregiving, located in Plaza West Center Mall on Thompson Boulevard, on Tuesday.

Angie Thompson-Smith cut the red ribbon with the giant Chamber scissors at noon. She noted that she is looking to hire employees and locate clients for Cornerstone.

“We’re an in-home caregiving service locally here in Sedalia,” she explained, adding that Cornerstone became a Chamber member as soon as they opened their doors on July 6.

“I know how important it is to be in the Chamber, Thompson-Smith said. “I used to be the Chamber director for five years, I really loved that job and so I know it’s important to be in the Chamber and work with other businesses for sure,” she told KSIS.

Cornerstone covers a 60-mile radius, and includes towns beyond Sedalia such as Marshall, Clinton, Warrensburg, Versailles and Tipton, to name a few.

“Anywhere people need our services, we are willing to travel,” she stated.

“Anybody that’s looking for a little help, or if your adult children of a senior that needs help at home, please give me a call at (660) 570-4747,” Thompson-Smith said, adding that the office is open normal business hours 8-5 Monday through Friday, but you can call the phone number anytime.

“I’m really anxious to get back in my hometown and serve our seniors,” she told Chamber President Gabby White.

Thompson-Smith noted that Cornerstone is based in Waco, Texas and that the company was formed in 2020.
