Custom Cookie Business Thriving
A new custom cookie business is getting a lot of attention the Kansas City area.
Mackenzie and Taylor Vincent are co-owners of Mack Canvas and Cookie in KC. They began operations in June, and have been very busy filling orders ever since.
We spoke with Taylor on Thursday afternoon about her new business venture.
“We had a lot of ideas and it just kind of snowballed. Honestly, we were just joking around with our friends during brunch. We went home and we said 'let's make some cookies.'” Taylor recalled.
She added that since Mackenzie likes to produce art on canvas and Taylor likes to bake, they should form a partnership. Taylor made a batch and took some photos, which ended up on Snapchat and Facebook “just for fun.”
The response was overwhelming, and encouraged the duo to take it a step further and go into business together. “We literally had no idea that was going to happen. We had some many people who wanted to buy, it turned into a full-time thing,” she said.
According to their Facebook page, Mack Canvas and Cookies, their “cookies are a soft, buttery, vanilla almond sugar cookie and we offer GF, too. We create custom orders for every occasion starting at $30 a dozen and increasing with complexity. When asking for a quote please provide us with as many details as possible so we can be accurate.”
Pick-ups for orders occur near St. Luke’s North in KCMO Wednesday through Friday from 8 a.m. 4 p.m.
