Evelyn Marie Kroenke, 89

Evelyn Marie Kroenke, 89, of Cole Camp, died Monday, April 8, 2013, at Good Samaritan Care Center, Cole Camp.  She was born on April 4, 1924, on the family farm at Balke Prairie near Cole Camp, a daughter of William "Bill" and Sara Elizabeth (Campbell) Shoemaker.   On May 25, 1940, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cole Camp by Pastor Karl Niermann, she was united in marriage to Denver Louis Kroenke, who preceded her in death on June 28, 1993.  This union was blessed with the gift of four children:  Carolyn, Dianna, Vickie, and Michael.   On September 29, 1940, she was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cole Camp, where she remained a faithful member.  Evelyn loved to host family get-togethers, where she served fried chicken and her famous homemade noodles.  For twelve years, she worked in housekeeping at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Cole Camp.  She enjoyed traveling, baking playing the piano, playing cards, and was a wonderful seamstress.   She is survived by: three daughters, Carolyn L. Bartlett and her husband Don of Sedalia, Dianna K. Schumaker and her husband Paul of Lowry City, and Vickie Lynn Sagnibene and her husband Danny of Kansas City;             one son, Michael D. Kroenke of Cole Camp;             eight grandchildren, Crystal Schumaker, Randall Schumaker, Brian Bartlett, Eric Bartlett, Wendy Schmidt, Troy Purtle, Samantha Harms, and Allison Kroenke; and ten great-grandchildren, Blake, Jacqueline, Audrey, Macy, Josie, Breanna, Donovan, Mitch, Mariah, and Jessica.   Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Sara Shoemaker, two sisters, Juanita "Billy" Carrico and Rosie Chaney, eight brothers, Ed Shoemaker, Henry Shoemaker, Walter Shoemaker, Lloyd "Beans" Shoemaker, Roy Shoemaker, Clarence Shoemaker, Edward Shoemaker, and James Shoemaker, and one granddaughter, Michelle Schumaker.   Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cole Camp, with Pastor Michael Boothby officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery, rural Cole Camp.   The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church.   In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to Trinity Lutheran Church in care of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.
