SVAA To Host Event September 11 – 12

Sept. 11 – 12, the Sedalia Visual Art Association will host a plein air (outside) art event and entry forms and rules can be found at sedaliavisualartassociation.org.

Artists will be painting on Ohio Street and in several other locations in town starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday until 3 p.m. on Sunday, and then take their finished pieces to Convention Hall in Liberty Park for judging and to be viewed by 5 p.m. by the public, explained Linda Hoover, president of the SVVA.

Thanks to grant money from the Missouri Tourism Commission, the SVAA will be awarding $1400 in cash prizes.

The public is invited to come and watch the artists paint and also enjoy a pop-up art show hosted by NO Bro in several of the businesses in the area and hear music on the courthouse lawn by “Frank It’s-Not-Tra” on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 2. Jeremy Cash will perform Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m.
