Thank goodness for a couple of cooler days as we settle into typical mid summer temperatures and heat index values from 105 to 110 in Missouri starting Wednesday afternoon through Saturday evening.

According to the National Weather Service:

EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS
AFTERNOON TO 8 PM CDT SATURDAY...

* TEMPERATURE...High temperatures will be in the upper 90s to
  around 100 degrees with night time lows in the upper 70s to
  around 80 degrees. Heat index values will reach 105 to 110
  degrees each afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Heat illnesses will be likely for those spending
  prolonged time outside or time indoors in non-air conditioned
  locations. The prolonged heat could be especially dangerous
