First Baby Born in 2018 at Fitzgibbon Hospital
Fitzgibbon Hospital and Marshall Women’s Care have announced the birth of the first baby born in 2018. Landon Joseph Thomas was born on Jan. 2 at 4:56 p.m. to Chasitie Payton and Tyler Thomas.
Baby Landon weighed in at 6.1 lbs. and measured 18 inches long. The delivering provider was Deanna Donnell, Certified Nurse Midwife at Marshall Women’s Care.
The family lives in Versailles, but chose to have their baby at Fitzgibbon Hospital because their 2-year-old son, Graysin, also was born in the “Baby-Friendly” recognized hospital.
For being the first baby born at Fitzgibbon Hospital in 2018, the family received a car seat/stroller combo and a case of size No. 1 diapers.
Fitzgibbon Hospital has been delivering babies for 95 years and was one of a handful of hospitals in Missouri to be recognized as a Baby-Friendly Hospital by the World Health Organization and Baby-Friendly USA in 2015.
Baby-friendly hospitals are recognized for the commitment to outstanding mother-baby bonding and lactation support.
