Funeral Announcements for May 1, 2023

Visitation for Robert Lee Shackles, 79, of Green Ridge, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 1 at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia.  Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, at First United Methodist Church Celebration Center.  Burial will be in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens in Independence.

A celebration of life service for Cruz Lara Espino, 87 of Sedalia, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 1, at Calvary Episcopal Church, 713 S. Ohio Ave, Sedalia. Arrangements are in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.

A celebration of life for Margaret K. "Kathie" Mullins, 65, of La Monte, formerly of Marshall, will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at LifePointe Church. Burial will be held at a later date in Barea Cemetery, Cooper County. Arrangements are in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.

A Rosary for James Timothy Buckley, 84, Sedalia, will be said at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Sacred Heart Chapel in Sedalia on Tuesday, May 2 at 5:30 p.m.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Wednesday, May 3 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Funeral service for Barbara Jean “Bobbi” Smith, 77, of Sedalia, will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 8, at East Sedalia Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Private family burial will be held at a later date in the Edmonson Baptist Church Cemetery near Lincoln. Arrangements in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.

The family of Margaret Ann Jones, 64, of Sedalia, will hold a private celebration of life at a future date. Arrangements are in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.

Funeral service for Clarence Marion Newton, 91, of Sedalia, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 3 at Heckart Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Burial with military honors will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Funeral service for Bobby Gene Wells, 91, of Sedalia, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at Heckart Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
