Funeral Announcements for September 30, 2024

A Celebration of Life for James E. Goss, 64, of Smithton, will be held the evening of Oct. 5 at the residence of Jimmy and Carmen Goss. Arrangements are under the direction of Heckart Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life for Hollie E. Barnes, 42, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin will be held on Saturday, October 5, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Rea Funeral Chapel.

Visitation for Ann K. Fravel 78, of Sedalia, will be held at Calvary Baptist Church Saturday, Oct. 5 at 10 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Heckart Funeral Home.

Memorial service for Gene A. Steele, 62, of Cole Camp, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church near Florence. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.

A graveside service for Mark Charles Merrell, 63, of Sedalia, will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.

A celebration of life for Walter Dean Poynter, 69, of Sedalia, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 at Rea Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

A celebration of life for Richard A. Ballenger, 43, of Raytown, MO, formerly of Sedalia, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at New Hope Baptist Church, Sedalia. Arrangements are in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.

Mass of Christian burial for Bennett Brooks Twenter, 16 months old, of Sedalia, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3 at Sacred Heart Chapel, St. Vincent de Paul Parish. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 10 a.m., with a visitation to follow from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery.

A celebration of life for Jay Lynn Bone, 60, of Smithton, will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 at the Smithton Community Center, 200 S. Chestnut, Smithton. Another celebration of life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 at St. Cornelius Episcopal Church, 200 W. Spruce, Dodge City, Kan. Arrangements are under the direction of Heckart Funeral Home.

A celebration of life for Rodney Lee Foushee, 60, of Sedalia, will be announced by the family at a later date. Cremation arrangements are in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
