George "Tom" Curtis 89 of Warsaw, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

He was born on November 12, 1926 in Green Ridge, Missouri son of John H. and Lois E. Ward Curtis. In 1982 Tom married the love of his life "Della Mae Petree." They made their home at Warsaw.

Tom served his country honorably in the U.S. Army in World War ll, joining when he was 17 years old. After returning he went to work at Panhandle Eastern Pipeline near Houstonia, Missouri. After he retired Tom and Della Mae moved to his lake home in Warsaw. Tom enjoyed fishing and hunting with his nephews, going to the casino, helping with the Honor Guard and fellowship at the American Legion in Warsaw.

He is survived by two daughters; Jackie Magnusson and husband Bill of Mountain Home, Idaho, Georjean Harrison and her husband Harold of La Monte Missouri, three sisters; Ann Crum and Jeanette Moore both of Sedalia, Jane Harrison of La Monte, seven step daughters, four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded by one daughter, Madaline, four brothers; Buck Curtis, Ray Curtis, Jerry Curtis and Baby Jay Curtis, three sisters; Dorothy Hefner, Valinda Elizabeth Rossi and Marjorie Bess Williams.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 P.M. Friday, December 11, 2015, at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Morse officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. until service time on Friday.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Harrison, Mark Harrison, Buck Lynn, Mike Crum, Danny Crum and Larry Brooks. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Chipman, Gary Pat Clifford, Lloyd Hefner, Roy Greenfeather and Mark Mills. Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens in Sedalia. Memorials may be given to the Missouri Veterans Home 1300 Veterans Road in Warrensburg, Mo 64093.
