A 29-year-old Grandview man was sentenced on May 24 to 15 years in federal prison without parole for illegally possessing a firearm.

Authorities say Anthony B. Hutton was arrested in January 2016 when police were investigating a stolen vehicle that was found to occupied by Hutton and another suspect. In addition to finding a loaded Glock .40 caliber pistol, police say marijuana, cocaine and pills were also found in the vehicle.

Hutton has three prior felony convictions for distribution of a controlled substance and a prior felony conviction for unlawful use of a weapon for attempting to shoot someone. Under federal law, it is illegal for anyone who has been convicted of a felony to be in possession of any firearm or ammunition.
