Green Ridge Man Killed in Pettis County Accident
A man from Green Ridge was pronounced dead around noon on August 6 following an accident on US 65 in Pettis County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 2016 Chevrolet Sonic was northbound when it struck the towed unit of a westbound 2016 Kenworth that was crossing the highway at Route J. The driver of the Sonic, 68-year-old Gerald A. Grable, was pronounced dead by Pettis County Coroner Robert "Skip" Smith at the scene.
The driver of the Kenworth, 51-year-old Eric W. Brown of Jefferson City, was not injured. The Sonic was totaled and towed from the scene, while the Kenworth was not damaged.
Both drivers were wearing safety devices, according to an online crash report.
