The Sacred Heart Gremlins soccer team won both matches in the Smith-Cotton Shootout Friday and Saturday, Aug. 27-28.  

SH faced Willard at 5 p.m. Friday. Playing in extreme heat, the Gremlins outscored the Tigers 8-6. Senior Bruno Saucedo scored four goals, sophomore Jackson Manning scored two, senior Ian Viscara and freshman Diego Deleon each had one goal. Ian had four assists and freshman Ramses Montoya had one assist.

The Gremlins faced a tough team from Osage High School Saturday at 10 a.m. The first goal of the game was scored on a perfectly executed header by sophomore Jackson Manning. The Gremlins played tough, again in extreme heat, beating the Indians 5-4.  Senior Bruno Saucedo scored two goals, sophomores George Bain and Andres Vanegas had one goal apiece. George and freshman Diego Deleon each had one assist.

The Gremlins will start play in the Barstow Tournament Wednesday, Sept. 1 in Kansas City.
