Gremlins Win On The Road

The Sacred Heart soccer team traveled to Moberly Monday and came away with a win in both the varsity and junior varsity games.

Senior George Bain scored a goal within the first 3 minutes of the game. Fellow senior Jackson Manning scored halfway through the first half and senior Marcel Walton also hit the back of the net before halftime.

Junior goalie Zander Jackson had an impressive evening stopping all scoring attempts by the Spartans. The second half of the game was scoreless, but there were a lot of close calls as Moberly desperately tried to get on the scoreboard. Sacred Heart won 3-0.

In the JV game, Sacred Heart outscored Moberly 2-1. Senior Andres Vanegas and sophomore Max Van Leer each scored goals for the Gremlins.

Sacred Heart hosts Green Ridge at Clover Dell Park Thursday, Sept. 21. The junior high game starts at 5 p.m., followed by varsity.
