Having a Hard Time Sleeping? This May Be Your Answer
I know lately I've had a hard time sleeping. You have to consider since I do a morning radio show, I get up early so I have to go to bed early...at least early for some. I try to go to bed around eight pm. Now that means whether I'm tired or not, I have to hit the hay and try to shut everything down for a good night's sleep. Four am come around too early most mornings so it really helps to get a good night's sleep but it seems like it's more difficult to find that good 6-8 hours of snooze time.
Does it seem like it's harder and harder for you to get a good night's sleep? If you're struggling to get the Z's, this may be the answer you've been searching for to your dilemma.
Scientists are saying that sleeping in a colder room is not only better for your health but also may help you to get a good night's sleep.
According to an article from TV station WXII in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the lower the temperature in your bedroom could be the key to getting a better night's sleep. This is according to Dr. Christopher Winter, medical director at Charlottesville Neurology & Sleep Medicine.
The reason the lower temperature makes a difference is that sleep usually begins when our body temperature drops. So when we're in a colder room, our probability of falling asleep increases. According to Dr. Winter, our rooms should be between 60 and 67 degrees. When temperatures exceed or go below the aforementioned temperatures, we tend to toss and turn.
So make your room cooler and see if it helps with your good night's sleep!
