
Holden Man Arrested for Possession of Child Porn
Holden Police arrested 35-year-old Eric Scott Brendel on Thursday morning for possession of child pornography.
Brendel was arrested in reference to an Internet Crimes Against Children Investigation by an Officer with the Holden Police Department assigned to the Western Missouri Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (WMICAC).
Brendel has been charged with thirteen felonies for possessing Child Pornography.
The Holden Police Department received a cyber tip regarding the possession of Child Pornography from the National Center for Exploited and Missing Children (NCMEC).
During the investigation, Brendel was identified as a possible suspect. Search warrants were served at his residence in the 1600 block of South Vine and the 600 block of South St. Charles in Holden, with the help of the Cass County Sheriff’s Department and the Knob Noster Police Department.
Further investigation led to his arrest.
Brendel was being held at the Johnson County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

The Western Missouri Internet Crimes Against Children (WMICAC) Task Force is spearheaded by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and consists of personnel from agencies within Cass, Bates, Henry, Johnson, Lafayette, Pettis and Saline counties. WMICAC is an affiliate of the Missouri Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (MOICAC).
