Stone County Deputies Arrest Man Who Jumped Off Bridge While Being Pursued
Stone County Deputies arrested a man who fled from law enforcement early Saturday morning when they attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a speeding car.
Deputies clocked 26-year-old Gavin Thor Lundgren traveling 75 mph in a 45 mph zone in his 2005 Chevy Malibu at 1:50 a.m. Saturday.
A traffic stop was attempted, but Lundgren refused to stop, pulling into a parking lot and around a building, then back onto the roadway.
Deputies pursued Lundgren until they reached a bridge over Table Rock Lake. That’s when Lundgren exited the Chevy while it was still in drive, run towards the railing and leap headfirst off the bridge and into the water.
The suspect was later pulled out of the water and into a boat supplied by the local fire department.
Lundgren was not easily taken into custody.
He head butted two deputies during the process.
Lundgren was eventually transported to the Stone County Jail, where he was booked in at 2:22 a.m. Saturday.

He now faces charges of resisting arrest by fleeing, careless and imprudent driving, resisting arrest for a felony, and three counts of 3rd degree assault special victim.
He was being held in the Stone County Jail without bond.
