If you drive Interstate 70 and pass under Interstate 435 during your travels, you're going to have to find another way to get where you're going. MoDOT is closing Interstate 70 at the Interstate I-435 interchange to facilitate removal of the old I-435 bridges over Interstate 70.

In a Facebook post MoDOT Kansas City says they'll be closing Interstate 70 at Interstate 435 at 10:00PM CST on Friday February 21. The Interstate is expected to remain closed at the interchange through 5:00AM CST on Monday February 24. Motorists are asked to use suggested detours or find an alternate route to get where they need to go. MoDOT Kansas City says the closure will have traffic impacts on Interstate 70.

According to MoDOT, "This is all part of a new interchange design being built at I-435 and I-70. The new design will be a partial turbine configuration. Improvements include full bridge replacements, removal of left exits, improvements to loop ramp configuration, and congestion relief." MoDOT is expecting the project to be complete in December.
