Jaw-Dropping “Catwoman Whip” Aims to Thrill at Six Flags

Six Flags St. Louis is debuting a new ride that they hope will entice those who love thrill rides back to the theme park this summer. They hope that the jaw-dropping "Catwoman Whip" will do just that. And it might, although I've never been a big fan of these types of rides. And honestly, just building them taller and faster doesn't get my motor running.

Of course, I may not be the guy to ask. I got sick on the Tilt-A-Whirl back in 1988, so I've become much more selective about what thrill rides I step onto these days. And I've never been a fan of the build it taller, make it go faster, spin you around in five different ways kind of thrill ways.

So the Catwoman Whip, the new thrill ride at Six Flags St. Louis doesn't get my motor running the way a new classic roller coaster might. For whatever reason, I'm OK on roller coasters, they don't bother me, except I still believe just because it's taller and faster doesn't make it any better than say the park's Screamin' Eagle which is one of my favorite coasters of all time.

According to Six Flags St. Louis press release, "The new CATWOMAN Whip brings yet another innovative and exhilarating attraction to Six Flags St. Louis in 2022. This new ride is the first in the park’s history to combine height, speed and dual motion. The adventure begins as the ride’s giant arm launches guests 16-stories into the air, spinning round in a giant vertical circle while the unique open-air pods are simultaneously flipping them head-over-heels. As riders soar upward, the circular rotation continues for a thrilling, one-of-a-kind experience."

You'll notice the video talks about "Catwoman Whip" making its debut at Six Flags, St. Louis, in 2020. According to the Six Flags Fandom website the ride was announced by the Park in late August 2019, and then between the lost 2020 theme park season and delays in 2021, the ride is just making its debut this season.

Obviously, this ride isn't going to get me to spend my hard-earned money at Six Flags St. Louis, or be a must-ride attraction if I do go. What about you, are you interested in riding Catwoman's Whip?
