Jeff City Couple Injured After Slamming Into 18-wheeler

A Jefferson City couple were injured Wednesday morning when they slid into the back of an 18-wheeler in Callaway County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2008 Nissan Altima was on US 63, just south of the West 63 Outer Road at 9:54 a.m., when it slid into the rear of a southbound 2007 International 7400, driven by 55-year-old Alan D. Wehmeyer of Holts Summit.

William O. and Nicole L. Johnson, both 40, from Jeff City, suffered moderate injuries, and were transported to University Hospital by ambulance. Both were wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash.

The International had minor damage, while the Nissan had extensive damage and was towed from the scene.
