Holt’s Summit Woman Killed, Jeff City Man Injured in Highway 54 Crash

A Holt’s Summit woman was killed and a Jeff City man was injured in a two-vehicle collision that occurred Saturday night in Callaway County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2014 Mazda CX-5 was sitting in the roadway after a crash on Highway 54 at Route J (New Bloomfield) just after 9:30 p.m., when a westbound 2017 Chevy Malibu, driven by a 61-year-old man from Jefferson City, slammed into the Mazda.

The 49-year-old driver of the Mazda was still inside the vehicle at the time of the crash, and was pronounced deceased on scene at 9:58 p.m., by Boone County Medical Examiner Stacey Huck. The body was taken to the Boone County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The driver of the Malibu suffered minor injuries and was transported by Callaway County EMS to Capital Regional Hospital.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed by Kendall’s Towing.
