JoCo Health Emergency Order Prohibits Restaurant Dining

Johnson County Community Health Services issued an emergency order which closes restaurants, bars, taverns, movie theaters and clubs from March 20 - April 20 in Johnson County, Missouri. Establishments may continue curbside, drive through and delivery services.

Additionally the emergency order bans public gatherings of ten or more. Exceptions include governmental and judicial functions, healthcare facilities, private business operations, religious and faith-based activities, weddings and funerals.

The order issued by Administrator Mary Thaut, in consultation with the Johnson County Community Health Services Board of Trustees, mirrors the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and COVID-19 guidance.

The emergency order goes on to remind people the best ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19:

Wash hands often with soap and water for a least 20 seconds or use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
Stay home if you are sick.
Cover coughs and sneezes using your elbow or shoulder rather than your hands.
Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces frequently.

As if March 19 Johnson County has no confirmed cases of the coronavirus.
