JoCo Man Arrested for DWI After Crash
A Johnson County man was arrested on multiple charges after a collision that occurred on Wednesday afternoon involving an alleged DWI driver.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a northbound 2009 Nissan, driven by 39-year-old Jeffery Allen Thorell, who was listed by the Patrol as being from both Warrensburg and Holden, was at US 50 and Missouri 131 (Pittsville) around 5:30 p.m., when the Nissan crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2017 Subarau, driven by 25-year-old Isaac E. Denney of Independence.
Isaac Denney and his passenger, 29-year-old Emily D. Denney of Independence, suffered minor injuries and were transported by private vehicle to Lee's Summit Medical Center for treatment.
Both vehicles were totaled and towed by Warrensburg Tow.
Thorell was later arrested by the Patrol at 8:28 p.m. He now faces charges of felony leaving the scene of an accident causing injury and damage over $1,000, driving while revoked (3rd offense), failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, no insurance (2nd offense), felony driving while intoxicated prior offender, felony resisting arrest, registration and equipment violation. Thorell was taken to the Johnson County Jail.
