A Kansas City man was killed in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Thursday afternoon in Bates County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2022 Toyota 4 Runner, driven by 64-year-old Michael S. Doll of Kansas City, was on I-49 at the 120.8 mile marker around 5 p.m., when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a concrete bridge pillar.

Doll was pronounced dead at the scene by Bates County Paramedic Jason Stroud at 5:28 p.m. Doll was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.
