State Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners softball head coach Lyndsey Talbot has announced the addition of Alex Fenton to the 2017-2018 recruiting class.

Fenton, a 5’4’’ pitcher from Shelbina, Mo., played for head coach Angie Resa at South Shelby High School.

Fenton earned honorable mention all-conference in 2014, second-team all-conference in 2015 and 2016 and was a second-team all-region pick in 2015 and 2016. Fenton and her team were district champions in 2015. She earned first-team all-district three times and all-state academic honors throughout high school.

“Alex is the type of pitcher who has a lot of spin on her pitches,” said Talbot. “She came and threw for us the other day. She had good velocity for someone who hadn’t pitched since the fall.”

Fenton signed an Athletic Aid Letter of Intent and will begin at SFCC in the fall.
