Lee’s Summit Man Arrested in Johnson County

A Lee's Summit man was arrested around 5:40 a.m. on February 25 after Johnson County deputies were dispatched to an address in rural Kingsville in regards to a trespassing complaint. Deputies say the man initially provided a false name but was later identified as 40-year-old Steven Ward. Authorities say Ward was in possession of stolen items belonging to a nearby church. Ward was taken into custody and placed on a 24 hour investigative hold. A warrant was obtained for Burglary 2nd degree with a bond of $7,500.00 cash or surety.
