Man Admits to Killing Two Men, Wounding Third in St. Louis
A suburban St. Louis man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison for fatally shooting two men and wounding a third.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 21-year-old Miquis Crumble, of Jennings, accepted a plea deal Tuesday afternoon as his trial was ready to begin.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder for fatally shooting 41-year-old Huston Martin IV and 38-year-old Cory Goodwin in August 2016 in Martin's St. Louis apartment. Crumble initially was charged with first degree murder in their deaths. Prosecutors say there was tension between Crumble and Martin over a woman.
Crumble also pleaded guilty to assault for shooting Martin's brother, Clinton Martin, in the finger, mouth and chest, leaving him bleeding on a couch for nearly 20 hours before he was found.
