A northeast Missouri man is charged with second-degree murder in a fatal shooting that may have been spurred by an unpaid debt.

Marion County prosecutor David Clayton on Monday charged 34-year-old Brad Tierney of Philadelphia, Missouri, in the death of 35-year-old Ronald Goodrich. Hannibal police on Thursday found Goodrich in the parking lot of an auto sales lot. He was taken to a hospital where he died.

Tierney is jailed on $1 million cash-only bond and does not have a listed attorney.

A probable cause statement from police says Tierney shot Goodrich after the men argued earlier in the evening, apparently over a debt. Police used surveillance video from the gas station where the argument occurred, and the car lot, to identify Tierney as a suspect.
