Man Charged With Second Degree Murder in Death of Warrensburg Woman

A Warrensburg man has been charged in the shooting death of a woman in the 200 block of SW Business 13 Highway.

The Daily-Star Journal reports 39-year-old Russell S. Shuey has been charged in Johnson County with second degree murder in the death of 26-year-old Sabrina S. Shelton, who had been found shot in the chest with a 9mm pistol on Sunday. Authorities allege that Shuey had a loaded firearm while intoxicated and handled it in a negligent manner, leading to the shooting of Shelton. Drug tests reportedly found that Shuey was impaired from marijuana and methamphetamine use.

Shuey is also facing several additional charges.
