Sedalia Woman Charged With Trafficking Fentanyl And Weapons Charges
On the evening of October 29th, Pettis County Deputies conducted a traffic stop at East Front Street and Pleasant Green Road in La Monte on a gold Toyota Prius.
The Prius was stopped because it had improper registration that came back registered to a Volkswagen, and had no front license plate. During the stop, the Mid Missouri Drug Task Force arrived with K9 Tina, who positively alerted to the odor of narcotics in the vehicle.
After a probable cause search, a loaded dual barrel .22 C22m Cobra was discovered, with two bullets in the chamber. The handgun was found in the front passenger seat. In the back, in a pink bag, Deputies found a baggie with a crystal substance and a pipe. The substance tested positively for methamphetamine and fentanyl, in the amount of .5 grams*. The driver, Kimberly Stout, 54, of Sedalia, was arrested. Stout was booked in at the Pettis County Jail on charges of felony Trafficking Drugs in the 2nd Degree, felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon**, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm***, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Bond was set at $150,000 cash or surety, and Stout is currently in custody at the Pettis County Jail. Stout has a hearing upcoming on November 12th, 2024, for attorney status.
* The statutory limit for fentanyl and methamphetamine is 20 milligrams. Half a gram is 500 milligrams.
**In Casenet 24PT-CR01711, this charge has been amended to felony Armed Criminal Action. The paraphernalia charge has been dropped.
***Stout is a felon, With convictions for Delivery of a Controlled Substance in 2008, felony Theft in 2014, and Burglary charges in 2015. The Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA68) and 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1) prohibits felons from possessing, transporting, shipping, or receiving firearms or ammunition.
