Marceline Man Drowns in Private Pond

A Marceline man drowned in a private pond Sunday afternoon in Linn County.
26-year-old Jacob W. Sprague of Marceline was suffering from heat exhaustion and entered the pond, located two miles northeast of Laclede, presumably to cool off. He was later found face down the pond around 2:30 p.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The body was taken to Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline.

Linn County deputies and Linn County EMS assisted the Patrol at the scene.
