Michael Ray Bowers, 70, of Sedalia, died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at his home.

He was born June 4, 1942, in St. Louis, MO, a son of the late Lloyd and Lucille (Kindle) Bowers.

He was raised in Gravois Mills and was a graduate of Versailles High School. In his youth, he worked for his father in the Gravois Supermarket. He served his country honorably in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He graduated from CMSU and Missouri Valley College and worked as a counselor. He loved his grandchildren very much. He thoroughly enjoyed the Lake of the Ozarks and his dream was to one day return there. He lived life to its fullest.

He is survived by a son, John Bowers, and his wife, Mikaela, of Elmhurst, IL; John’s mother, Mary (Perkins) Bowers; two uncles, Alfred Kindle, and his wife, Edna, and Lloyd Kindle, and his wife, Frankie; four aunts, Maxine Griggs, Nadine Klein, Joann Collier and Kathy Martin, and her husband, Corbett, all of Sedalia; and grandchildren, Noah, Fynn, Braelyn, and unborn Asher Michael.

He was predeceased by six aunts, Edith Rickey, Mary Jett, Patsy Pyle, SueBell Brockman, Tina Smith, Janie Kindle-Jobe, and one uncle, Tom Kindle.

Visitation will begin at 5:30 pm, Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Bethlehem Baptist Church followed by a memorial service at 6:30 pm with the Rev. Corbett Martin officiating.

Honorary Pallbearers will be lifelong friend Cleo Marshall, Don Ditzfeld, Chuck Griggs, Andy Kindle, John Klein, Brad Kindle, Deannie Jett, Kirby Pyle, Roger Brockman, Kelly Miller, Tom Kindle, Jason Kindle, Carmen Smith, Steve Martin, and Travis Jobe.
