Mo State Fair Now Accepting Apps for Daily Military Honorees

The Missouri State Fair is accepting nominations for Veterans and Active Military Honorees of the Day.

Eleven veterans or active duty service members from Missouri will be chosen from the nominations and honored daily in a Military Flag Retreat ceremony to take place just outside the old Historic Administration Building on the Fairgrounds across from the grandstand. The ceremony typically takes place around 5:30 p.m.

Individuals can be nominated using a form available on the Missouri State Fair's website. The form must be filled out as thoroughly as possible as this is the information the panel of judges will use to select the eleven honorees (additional space may be used).

Nominees must be Missouri residents and available to attend one of the eleven days of the 2026 Missouri State Fair, Aug. 13-23. Once a nomination form is complete, it can be mailed or emailed to the Missouri State Fair marketing office to be entered into the selection process.

The deadline to submit nominations is May 25, 2026.
